One of my resolutions was to get this site mobile friendly and WE’VE FINALLY DONE IT. Ringing in the new year with a sweet responsive site is all I wanted for Christmas. Now you can get your hands on new pretties through your mobile device.
Winter means rain over here in the SF Bay Area and that means an extra sleepy babe.. and that means this mama has the chance to throw some fresh new goods up on the site. It’s colorful and delicious and the perfect way to brighten things up while you go about your January.
Speaking of January, drop by my Insta (@Prismera) for this month’s special pricing on a couple of these beauties. Quickly though, because it’s not forever.
Edit: And we’re back! It’s on like flan.
Thanks for your patience and understanding!
Everyone’s been so, so cool about my absence. Thank you for continuing to purchase my designs and for supporting this spot on the web that’s been around for TEN years, as of this year- can you believe it?! I can’t! I really should have celebrated, but I promise my excuse is really good (see previous blog post.)
And now, there’s this hiccup that’s happening at check out, yuck. I’m really sorry about it and the elves and I are doing our best to get it all back and running smooth as silk. Until then, please email your orders (laura@prismeradesign).
Thanks again.
(And now a photo of my cat, as a gesture of appreciation.)
Just wanted to pop in for a quick update: our precious one arrived fast and furious a couple of weeks ago and we are all doing well. More than well- we are utterly in love and amazement at this tiny creature who is filling our days (and nights) lately.
A bit of news: we’re expecting our first baby in about a month or so!
As I’m nearing the end of my third trimester, it’s taking a bit of time to process orders and get them shipped out. If you aren’t in a rush, please feel free to continue placing orders. We’ll still be shipping out, but with a maximum 2 week lead time.
This is only temporary and when I’m back full time, I’ll have many more new sparkly pieces that I’ve already designed in preparation for the fall season. I’m so excited to share them with you.
I am so grateful, as always, for all your support and patience while we navigate this whole new chapter in our lives!
These quiet, lovely photos for the new additions to the Journey Collection are my favorite-the best that we’ve done so far for the line. (Although to be fair, every new batch is my favorite. I think I just love seeing my hard work being worn!)
The mixed metals in these new pieces make them even easier to layer. Stack endless bracelets, throw in a few rose here and a few gold there for added texture and light.
The Journey collection is even more poignant now that my husband and I are expecting a little one next year. When I first designed this group of work, I was thinking about friends who were going through huge life transitions. It was a message of support for those who had the courage to leave an abusive marriage or pursue new career passions. A silent way to honor friends who were dealing with great, immeasurable loss.
And now we are on our own little journey. This new path and its preciousness is not lost on us, and we can’t imagine what it will mean for our lives. We have never had a baby before! Every step is new. Much of it is struggle at the moment, but then I feel her moving around inside my belly (she is training to be an expert swimmer, it seems) and I know it’ll be okay.
Wall hangings are a thing right now and a thing that I am very PRO about. I am pro this thing.
These by WKNDLA are beautiful in their simplicity.

So balanced, so perfecto! I want to wear them, they are so gosh darn pretty. It’s a good thing she also makes necklaces.
We’re going to talk about necklace sizing today. (I don’t normally begin with an intro, but I thought I would start us off easy because it’s about to get intimate in this space.)
But first, lets take a look at the necklace guide I made for you all to help with the sizing process!
Wait, there’s more.
I know that it’s super frustrating for someone who is petite/plus sized to figure out what chain length suits best, based on a specific model size. Most guides out there like to tell you that a 14″ chain is a choker, but what if you’re 4 sizes smaller or larger than the fit model that they are using?
There are so many variables to consider besides dress size. There is also the neck size and which neckline you’d like to wear the necklace with. Is it winter? Are you wearing a THICK COAT?? And- moving into the realm of inappropriate questions to ask your customers if you are not selling lingerie- what is your chest size?
Yeah.
It gets complicated.
I wish I could tell you that there is an easy formula to figure this out, but the truth is this: we are all special snowflakes.
So, if you’d like to order a necklace that isn’t offered in the size you need, shoot me a quick note and we will figure out the right size, no problem.
I’ll even go a step further, because how incredibly frustrating is this issue?! I’ve definitely been there. Maybe we purchased the necklace using the company’s “average” size and found that it wasn’t our size. Or we received it as a gift and it just didn’t fit quite right or maybe we moved to California and were newly married and wallowing in the all the wonderful cheeses and wines and avocados, and we doubled in size and now NOTHING FITS.
(This place ISN’T for personal venting? Okay, okay. Wrapping it up.)
Send that necklace to me and for the cost of shipping, I will take care of it.*
*Not an empty promise. Email me here to tell me your necklace sizing woes and to get the process started.
